Pros: I do love Miller and Amos, Hell, even Holden, though annoying, is still lovable/The crew of the Rocinante is a terribly flawed but terribly lovable family.
Cons: Some serious science going on with terra forming a new world but as Corey does, they eventually dumbs it down enough for this reader to understand what's going on.
Full Review:
The ring and the station are now controlled and monitored by the OPA. People are coming and going, exploring all the new worlds that have opened up to them. Holden and the faithful crew of the Rocinante are thrown into the middle of a brewing Belter/Earther Planetary war but it all somehow connects back to Miller and the blue fireflies of the Protomolecule. If you read that sentence and found yourself wondering what the actual Hell I was muttering about, I suggest you do yourself a favor and go back and read the three books prior to this one.
Go.
Go. Do it now.
That being said, if you've read the series thus far and understand what I'm talking about, I can say without hesitation that this one was a mixed bag. A little dramatic at parts, while far too technical in others, the ending was cerebral and trippy, so much so that I'm really not sure I absorbed it. I may have to go back and re-read it to see if anything stuck.
It was a good addition, Corey making me care far too much for the well being of fictional characters , clever girl, drawing me in like that 🤣🙌💯.
Though I read the glimpse into the next book, I think my brain was a little Scienced out so nothing really stuck. Not to say I'm not excited for the next book in the series, but my brain's ready for a little break. Then I'll eagerly come back to the series.
