⭐⭐
Pros: It had me interested and I kept reading, so it did what a book is supposed to do.
Con: The lack of contractions with Emma Burke was extremely annoying/The tension between Emma/Noah, since there was a significant time jump, it was all a bit confusing honestly/Overuse of the word "shift" as to "shift out of his grip."
Full Review:
Emma wakes up with no memory of her life. Apparently, she's the wife of Declan Burke, an enormously successful business man who's also a patient and caring Husband. She was in a terrible accident but they're hopeful that she'll make a full recovery. She's with the best Scientists in the Country, she's in good hands
She tries to find peace in this life that she can't remember and Declan really does seem to care for her. But the dreams/memories/nightmares that plague her sleep, just leave her even more confused. She dreams of another man, a beach in Mexico, a brand of two intertwined hearts on her skin. None of it makes sense. And it gets even weirder when she actually runs into someone from one of her dreams, in the flesh. She is stunned.
Things only fall further down the Rabbit Hole from there.
I kept reading because I was honestly curious as to how it all added up. The character of Emma Burke was infantile, as she's meant to be. The juxtaposition of the battle hardened Emma just didn't quite fit for me. I have to think about whether I'll read the sequel or not.
